“Butterflies in the sky, we can go twice as high”, because Reading Rainbow is BACK!

Nearly two decades since its original run, the iconic PBS series that taught generations to fall in love with books is returning with a new chapter. This time, librarian and internet fave Mychal Threets takes the helm, carrying the torch from the beloved LeVar Burton.

Known for his viral library stories and openness about mental health, Threets says his own path was shaped by Burton’s magic: “I am a reader, I am a librarian because LeVar Burton and Reading Rainbow made us believe we belong in books, we belong everywhere.”

Launched in 1983, the award-winning series became a cultural touchstone with 21 seasons and 155 episodes. Now, it’s ready to inspire a new generation. Catch new episodes every Saturday in October on KidZuko’s YouTube channel and at readingrainbow.org.
